My shy dainty ballerina babe

It's that time of the year again, when the children are wrapping things up with school and extra-curricular activities and Elena's beginning ballet class had an open house. Elena was quite reticent and I had to be quite firm with her that she had to go, but once she saw me get the make-up out she was all smiles again and when she saw how pretty she was all in pink, with her hair done up and lipstick on, she was ready to show off her stuff.

But of course, once she got ready to perform, she became quite worried and timid, but she went all on her own, like a big girl with no more coaxing from Mama.

This picture is a snap-shot from a video of when they were dancing and I am thrilled to see that she was smiling! Her teacher Nathalie's mirror image is in the top right of the photo, right behind Elena's mirror image. Nathalie looks so proud of her ballet babes. The girls all adore their teacher.

The best part, of course, was riding on Papa's shoulder when she was finished. She was so proud of herself! Can you see the joy on her face? Mama was equally proud! She's my shy dainty ballerina babe and she is beautiful!
