12 days of Christmas: #3 (Nativity sets)

My Christmas is wonderful, we set up our decorations yesterday and will hopefully bring home and decorate a Christmas tree this week. For day #3 of my 12 days of Christmas series, I've been working on a curation of nativity sets (because I hope to have my own collection one day!), but have found only one I deem worthy of this blog entry: a simple felt set that inspires humility and adoration, and moves my heart in an extraordinary way. It's simple beauty overshadows any others I could find. What about you? Do you have a favorite?

And now, I echo the question that my friend Nicole asked last Decemer...
Amidst all the bright lights, shiny paper and twinkling glitter of Christmas, where is the Christ child?
I am trying to seek for Him this Christmas,
and perhaps that is why I am filled with such great peace and joy.

I'm also trying to help my children find the Christ child.
Amongst other things we are using this advent calendar with 25 stars,
each inscripted with questions and scriptures
that tell the Christmas story
and how to become more like the Savior.
Each day a new star is read and answered and placed on the calendar.
You can print your own set at the link below.

And finally, here is the nativity story recounted in a beautiful video entitled: A Gift to the World.

The Christ child is our Heavenly Father's gift to the world that we rejoice in every Christmas.
What will your gift to the Christ child be this year?

  1. Love is the theme for christmas season. Gift giving symbolizes giving and sharing your blessings.
